Once again, it was inspiring to visit exhibitions of designers and exhibitors from all around the world at Milan Design Week this year. Salone del Mobile is one story, while the city and Brera/Isola Design District with open exhibition spaces are another. When you combine both with Italian tradition and modern charm, you get a delicious Italian “minestrone” that you will remember forever. Observing details, colors, shapes, combinations of beautiful stories and artworks undoubtedly leave a significant impression and inspiration for further work.
Personally, I like to see different things to feel their energy and truly understand what is in line with me. I am fond of happy, colorful, vibrant things with positive energy, charm, and even mischievousness, as they bring joy to people. And of course, nature, greenery, and everything related to it.
Even when choosing pieces for your space, it is good to stop and feel what is in line with you. What attracts you is meant for you. The same goes for the architect or designer- they should fit your views and values because it is the only way they can support and inspire you the best.
Milan Design Week is a celebration of the past, present, and future of design, and a testament to the power of tradition, modernity, and inspiration to shape the world around us. Next year, the 62nd Milan Furniture Fair will take place from 16 to 21 April 2024.
