Where is Tarzan?
One way to really enjoy and motivate yourself to exercise day after day is to create a gym that ‘helps you’ do that. These applyes to a home gym as well as hotel gyms for guests, or a corporate gym for employees.
What’s the trick here? The interior design, layout and decor.
With proper planning of heating and cooling, humidity and noise regulation, ventilation, window placement, etc., we can build the key foundations for a healthy workout “environment.” Only then does everything else come into play: equipment, safety, lighting, colors.
Ideally, as much natural light as possible should be used (natural lighting can significantly reduce the amount of energy required for interior lighting), as well as natural materials in the floors (e.g. rapidly renewable bamboo wood flooring or recycled rubber flooring), walls, ceiling and furniture.
However, if you want to create a ‘jungle gym’, that gives a feeling of freshness, it takes some extra thought. You can use unique, custom-made wallpapers for a more realistic forest feel. Or exercise ropes, ending in snake heads, that are hanging from the ceiling. Maybe you print a big gorilla on the glass to represent a symbol of strength? Either way, some more good music, fresh air, the smells of the forest and I bet we are all ready to start exercising.
